About the Project

A little bit of history....
My grandpa Lemore was a die hard fisherman, and a good one at that! He owned a boat throughout his time as long as I can remember. Friends, kids, daughter-in-laws, son-in-laws and even his grand-kids shared his love for fishing on his boat. He gave the boat to my dad.

My dad owned the boat for many years and continued to when my grandpa passed away. We marked some more memories on the boat with him fishing with his kids...even a little bit of tubing ! The boat had, of course, by now had it's ups and downs and got the nickname the "Hail Mary"... we had to say a little prayer before we went out on the water!

The boat sat for quite some time, and frankly just needed a little bit of work to be done. Tanner, who recently became my husband on May 31st, also shared a love for fishing. On June 22, 2013 Tanner and I were back in Richardton celebrating my mom's 50th birthday. Earlier that day we had gone to an auction in Steele to try and bid on a boat, it went a little high for what we were willing to pay. That night at the party Tanner mentioned something to my dad about the boat. The next day on Sunday is when dad called Tanner to tell him he could have the "Hail Mary". I guess he needed him to "officially" be a part of the family for him to give away this gem! Thus this blog has been created to tell the story of the restoration of the "Hail Mary"!
